Indian Cinema exhibition industry is facing a big crisis at present due to the progressively diminishing volume of cinema-goers. Because of this, 17,000 Indian single screen stand alone theaters have reduced to 11,000. Even though digital exhibition has been a relief,it has not delivered a desirable result for considerably saving the situation. Surprisingly, there is a totally different side to the same coin. Multiplex theater's are now growing at a fast pace quite successfully. This is a proof that people have not lost their interest in cinema. They just need a different package with a face-lift. But multiplex is inviting only to a certain group of people. It alienates a gigantic market share comprising of the middle class and the lower middle class who are ardent movie lovers. This is where the Cinesoft business plan can shift gears and reach to its unbelievable potential.
Imagine, converting the 17,000 single screen stand alone theaters into the multiplex level. Theater owners will be able to do this conversion at a low cost because they already have the land and the basic structure.
With such conversions people can avail the same facilities that the multiplex are providing for one third of the multiplex's ticket charges. The other major advantage is that we are not compromising on the screen size like in multiplex theaters. Recent studies show that a wide majority of the people prefer large screens.
